In The Community
The doctors and employees of Houston IVF are committed to the improvement of the greater Houston community of which we serve. We frequently give of our personal time to help create opportunities that allow the area’s residents to live deeper and richer lives. We support a variety of programs that enhance the quality of life in local neighborhoods and help aid disadvantaged residents and victims of tragedy. Our employees are passionate about making a difference. Our approach to philanthropy and volunteerism is simple—directing our resources to the organizations and causes our employees and patients care about.
Community outreach is the hallmark of Houston IVF’s culture. We believe in a bright future for the communities we serve and we are committed to invest our time, energy, and resources into the programs and events that make this area a better place to live for all people. Below is just a sample of some of the events in which we have participated and organizations we support.
The American Cancer Society
More than a walk, the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer describes the progress the ACS and its members are making to fight this disease, provide comfort and hope, and save lives from breast cancer. Making Strides events are noncompetitive walks ranging in distance from 3 to 5 miles. The event unites people of all ages with a common goal to fight breast cancer and save lives. In addition, Houston IVF is a supporter of Fertile Hope, a national LIVESTRONG initiative dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients and survivors whose medical treatments present the risk of infertility.
DePelchin Children Center
One organization that has benefited from Houston IVF’s commitment is the DePelchin Children’s Center, a nonprofit provider of children’s mental health, prevention and early intervention, and child welfare services. DePelchin helps families by providing helpful resources that have been compiled and developed by professionals. Houston IVF employees decided to coordinate a collection drive and scheduled a day to deliver the items collected. Employees donated several hundreds of dollars worth of clothing and appliances for DePelchin families in need.
Houston IVF is proud to be a conscientious corporate citizen, giving back to the communities that helped put us on the forefront of the industry.
Adopt a Family
The Adopt-A-Family Program connects sponsors with families to “adopt” by providing them with a family profile and wish list. Sponsors buy presents for their specific families and
arrange to deliver them to their adopted family. Adopt A Family is an integral part of the circle of protection for struggling families in our community. Houston IVF and its employees have adopted a family for each of the past three years.
We believe that a healthy community makes a better environment for all. Houston IVF participates in various education and fundraising events to support programs that directly affect the communities we serve. Through partnerships with local organizations, Houston IVF is able to actively support important programs that make a difference in the health and well being of our community.
Some of the local organizations we have partnered with to educate the public on health issues include the John P. McGovern Museum of Health & Medical Science, also known as The Health Museum, and The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Research. The Women’s Fund publishes and distributes health publications to the Houston community. Houston IVF has teamed up with both in the past to promote fertility preservation and health awareness for younger women.
