Dr. William Schoolcraft, M.D.

Dr. William SchoolcraftWilliam Schoolcraft, M.D. is the Scientific Director of Houston IVF.  He is also founder and Medical Director of the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM). He completed his medical training at the University of Kansas and finished his residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1983 at UCLA. In 1983 he began a private practice in the field of obstetrics, gynecology, and infertility in Denver.

The Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine was established in 1987, and within its first five years of operation, gained a national reputation for excellence in both pregnancy and delivery rates. CCRM has been rated as the #1 fertility clinic in the country by Child Magazine.
Dr. Schoolcraft’s contribution to Houston IVF has been to train the embryologists and to establish a state-of-the-art IVF laboratory.  These important steps have allowed Houston IVF patients to benefit from the innovations and high success rates of the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Schoolcraft has authored many scientific articles which have documented the Center's high success rates in intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), assisted hatching of embryos, novel methods to stimulate multiple follicular growth, and blastocyst transfers. Other research interests include novel protocols for the treatment of poor responders, oocyte and embryo cryopreservation by vitrification, and the in vitro maturation of human oocytes.
